An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Halmahera, Indonesia at 0103 GMT on Sunday morning, according to a release by the Hong Kong Observatory. The epicenter was initially determined to be at 1.7 degrees south latitude and 128.1 degrees east longitude, about 220 kilometers north of Ambon, Indonesia.
